Privacy Policy
iFlowRead is built to work on your device, for your eyes only. This page explains exactly what that means in practice — what stays on your iPhone or iPad, what's optional, and what we never collect.
1. Overview
iFlowRead ("iFlowRead", "the App", "we", "us") is a teleprompter and recording app for iPhone and iPad, developed and published independently. This Privacy Policy describes how the App handles information when you download and use it, and applies to this website as well as the App itself.
Our short version: iFlowRead is offline-first and on-device by design. Your scripts, recordings, and settings are stored locally on your device unless you explicitly turn on optional cloud sync. We do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
2. Information iFlowRead collects
iFlowRead is designed to minimize the information it collects. Depending on how you use the App, the following categories of data may exist:
- Scripts & documents you create, paste, or import (e.g. from Files, Notes, or a document picker). These are stored in the App's local database on your device.
- Recordings (video and audio) you make while using the teleprompter, including any takes saved to your Photos library at your request.
- App settings & preferences, such as scroll speed, font size, color preferences, and subscription tier — stored locally using standard iOS storage (e.g. UserDefaults, Core Data).
- Subscription status as provided by Apple's StoreKit, used to unlock Basic or Pro features. iFlowRead does not see or store your payment details — see Section 5.
- Diagnostic data that Apple may collect automatically (e.g. crash logs) if you've opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your iOS Settings. We use this only to fix bugs and improve stability, and it is governed by Apple's own privacy practices.
We do not require you to create an account to use Basic or Pro features, and we do not collect your name, email address, or contact list unless you choose to provide it — for example, by emailing our support address.
3. On-device features & AI
iFlowRead's Pro tier includes on-device machine learning features such as filler-word detection and transcript generation. These features run entirely on your device using a small, local model:
- Audio and text processed for filler-word detection or transcription is never uploaded to our servers or any third party.
- Generated transcripts and reports are stored locally alongside the related recording, and are deleted when you delete that recording.
- If a future version of the App offers an optional cloud-based AI feature, it will be clearly labeled as such and will require your separate consent before any audio, video, or text leaves your device.
4. Optional cloud sync (Pro)
Pro plans support optional sync of scripts and recordings via iCloud and, where available, Google Drive. These features are off by default and only activate if you sign in and enable them.
- iCloud: When enabled, your scripts and recordings sync through your personal iCloud account using Apple's standard frameworks. This data is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and is encrypted in transit and at rest according to Apple's iCloud security model.
- Google Drive: If you connect a Google account, iFlowRead requests access only to files it creates (via Google's "app data" or file-scoped permissions). This data is subject to Google's Privacy Policy. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account security settings.
Disabling sync at any time stops new data from being uploaded; previously synced files remain in your iCloud/Google Drive account under your control until you delete them there.
5. Subscriptions & payment
iFlowRead offers Basic and Pro subscriptions, each with a 7-day free trial, billed monthly or yearly through Apple's StoreKit in-app purchase system.
- All payment processing is handled directly by Apple. iFlowRead never receives or stores your credit card number, billing address, or other payment instrument details.
- We receive only a non-identifying confirmation of your subscription tier and status, used to unlock the corresponding features on your device.
- Subscription management (viewing, changing, or cancelling) happens in your device's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, not within iFlowRead.
See our Terms of Use for the full subscription terms, including auto-renewal and cancellation details.
6. Data storage & security
Scripts, recordings, and settings are stored in the App's sandboxed local storage, protected by iOS's standard app sandboxing and, where applicable, device encryption (Data Protection) tied to your device passcode or biometric lock.
If you enable optional cloud sync, data in transit is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) to Apple's or Google's infrastructure as described in Section 4.
Because most data never leaves your device, deleting the App (or specific scripts/recordings within it) permanently removes that data from local storage, subject to normal iOS deletion behavior and any copies you've separately saved to Photos, iCloud, or Google Drive.
7. Your choices & rights
Because iFlowRead stores data locally by default, you are in direct control of it:
- Access & export: View, edit, or export your scripts and recordings at any time from within the App.
- Deletion: Delete individual scripts/recordings in-app, or remove all App data by deleting the App from your device.
- Cloud data: Manage or delete synced files directly in your iCloud or Google Drive account.
- Permissions: Camera, microphone, photo library, and file access permissions can be reviewed and revoked at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security.
If you are located in the EEA, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data. Because we hold very little personal data ourselves, most of these requests can be fulfilled directly through the controls above; for anything else, contact us using the details in Section 12.
8. Children's privacy
iFlowRead is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information (for example, via our support email), please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Cookies & analytics
This website does not use cookies, third-party analytics, or advertising trackers. We may use basic, privacy-respecting server logs (such as request counts) for security and reliability purposes only.
The iFlowRead App does not include third-party advertising SDKs or behavioral analytics. Any diagnostic information is limited to what's described in Section 2.
10. International users
iFlowRead is distributed globally via the Apple App Store. Because nearly all App data remains on your device, cross-border data transfer is minimal and primarily relates to optional iCloud/Google Drive sync (Section 4) and Apple's subscription infrastructure (Section 5), both of which maintain their own global compliance programs.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, legal requirements, or our practices. We'll update the "Last updated" date above, and for material changes we'll provide additional notice (such as an in-app message) where appropriate. Continued use of iFlowRead after a change becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
